The CFDA and fashion Designer Donna Karan teamed up for a project for Karan’s charity Urban Zen called upon american designers to fashion their own paper mache hearts donated by DKNY to be sold as a part of
their auction on eBay ‘One Million Hearts’ for Haiti
— the resulting hearts were not only for a great cause, but happened to be pretty fabulous.
The hearts were all crafted by Hatian artisans, whom supporting is a big part of what the foundation does. The personalized hearts will be auctioned on eBay, the auction ending on May 2nd. I highly recommend checking out the creations and if you are feeling charitable bidding
on one from your favorite designer.
You can also see the exhibition / explosion of hearts decorating Urban Zen’s beautiful West Village store.
Some of my favorite designers were included in this project, and I was so glad to see their hearts helping Haiti. Here are a few of my favorites, even though they we’re all fantastic ! You can check out all of the clever designs here on ebay’s fashion for Haiti store.
Peter Som, Eugenia Kim
Vera Wang, Nicole Miller
Erickson Beamon, Fenton
Cynthia Rowley, Adrienne Landau

The New Girl –
Not exactly a rookie – but Sam Rollinson from the United Kingdom who possesses a very British look has started to make a major impression this season.
She’s signed at mother agency Select Model Management in London & New York Model Management in New York
With short brown hair and brown eyes, Sam has appeared in her fair share of editorials, the Burberry F/W 10 campaign by Mario Testino and she even closed Balenciaga S/S 13 & went on to appear in the campaign.
She can be found as @samrollinson on twitter – where you can follow her latest exploits during the upcoming Paris shows.
The press has started to take note – the London evening standard calling her a rising star of 2013 and an ‘elfin British model’ and Models.com calling her ‘the latest Brit beauty to catch the eye of every editor, casting director and designer in the business.’ and a top ten newcomer.
Sam killed NYFW, walked key shows in london and continued to dominate in Milan
she closed Diesel Black Gold F/W 13.14, opened Reed Krakoff F/W 13.14. In London she impressively opened up-and coming London designer J.W. Anderson’s show and then went on to close Marni at MFW.
Just this month she appeared in a Carine Roitfeld styled editorial for US Bazaar March 2013 and then went on to
score no less than three editorials in the former Vogue editor’s fashion tome CR Fashion Book.
She’s one of the biggest girls of the moment this season, and with campaign experience already under her belt there’s no questioning we’ll be seeing loads of her in print this year.
